I have been wearing Goldstar shoes for a long time now. They are comfortable, cheap and super durable. They have also come up with trendier models targeting the youths now.

I have worn them all around Nepal. From my first trip to Humla to short hikes up in Shivapuri, they have served me well. However, I don’t use them for my extreme fieldworks. A major problem is that I walk rough and my shoes lose their grip very quickly. I cannot let that happen. I need those grips.

| 1 | Humla | 11 | Dhading | 21 | Sindhupalchok |
| 2 | Bajura | 12 | Makwanpur | 22 | Kavrepalanchok |
| 3 | Banke | 13 | Parsa | 23 | Dolakha |
| 4 | Kapilvastu | 14 | Rasuwa | 24 | Okhaldhunga |
| 5 | Nawalparasi | 15 | Nuwakot | 25 | Udaypur |
| 6 | Manang | 16 | Kathmandu | 26 | Khotang |
| 7 | Kaski | 17 | Bhaktapur | 27 | Sunsari |
| 8 | Lamjung | 18 | Lalitpur | 28 | Dhankuta |
| 9 | Chitwan | 19 | Bara | 29 | Ramechhap |
| 10 | Gorkha | 20 | Rautahat |
Also, I have spent a decent amount of money on good hiking boots. They don’t lose grips so easy and are super durable as well.

I have few issues with the newer model though. I can’t seem to find the right size for me. One is too big and one is too small. Probably, it is just my feet and not the shoes.

Here are the pros and cons of Goldstar shoes :
Pros:
- Incredibly comfortable (the classic ones).
- Super durable.
- Very very affordable.
- Huge coverage. You can buy one anywhere in Nepal.
- Light. Doesn’t feel like you are wearing one.
- Made in Nepal.
Cons:
- The grips are not as super durable as the main body.
- I found the newer model (BNT?) was tight and I should have bought one size larger.
- They don’t put clean finishing in every piece.
- Lots and lots of duplicates in the market, though not the fault of Goldstar.
- Insoles come off while taking my shoes off and they need to be replaced pretty soon.
