Our project focused on investigating the elusive small carnivore community of the Tinjure-Milke-Jaljale complex in eastern Nepal, with a particular emphasis on the Binturong. Through a combination of field surveys, camera trapping, and community engagement, we aimed to:
- Document Biodiversity: Identify and document the presence and abundance of small carnivore species in the region.
- Conservation Awareness: Educate local communities and students about the importance of small carnivores and their role in the ecosystem.
- Community Engagement: Empower local communities to participate in conservation efforts and protect their natural heritage.
Project Highlights:
- Media Coverage: Our project gained significant media attention, with articles published in Setopati and PahiloPost.
- Rare Species Captured: Our camera traps captured images of rare species like the Asiatic Golden Cat, highlighting the rich biodiversity of the region.
- Community Engagement: Successful conservation workshops and outreach programs were conducted to raise awareness and inspire future generations of conservationists.
